This spring we have been all things seasons & insects. First we worked with the letter 's' & then the letter 'i' so it was a perfect opportunity to talk about the spring and bugs. Two of the books we worked with the most were James and the Giant Peach, for Dutch, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, for Ellis. Each child had their own book with very similar content but at differing cognitive levels. Since The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a little basic for Dutch, I made these handwriting cards for him to work on while I was reading the book with Ellis. I want to share these cards with you for FREE today :-)
To access the download, click here. I printed these cards off, laminated, cut & put them on a ring so that we could flip through them quickly. While I was reading the book with Ellis during our morning basket time, I got Dutch to write the number words & digits with a dry erase marker.
Once he wrote the numbers, I got him to place butterfly erasers in the correct number of circles. Sometimes I got him to use a fine motor tool to place the correct number of pom poms over the caterpillar circles. Ellis is not to handwriting just yet, but she could place the pom poms in the circles. This turned out to be a really fun activity for both kids. It also allowed me to give Dutch independent work while I was reading with Ellis.

Enjoy!

He is a Liar
This song has been on repeat in my head for a couple months now. It's a season that I'm in where I need to be reminded that I'm not as shameful & broken as the enemy wants me to believe. If you're in a place where you think like this, play this song over & over again, until the lies the enemy tells you are completely drowned out of your mind.
When he told you you’re not good enough
When he told you you’re not right
When he told you you’re not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you’re not worthy
When he told you you’re not loved
When he told you you’re not beautiful
That you’ll never be enough
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
Cause fear he is a liar
When he told you were troubled
You’ll forever be alone
When he told you you should run away
You’ll never find a home
When he told you you were dirty
And you should be ashamed
When he told you you could be the one
That grace could never change
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
Cause fear he is a liar
Let Your fire fall and cast out all my fears
Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
Cause fear he is a liar
