This post has no rhyme or reason (completely random); I just want to fill you in on what’s been going on around here these parts ;-) I’m gunna link this random mess up with my bestie Joy for The Friday Five.
Thank you Meg for the above pictures! You really captured our fun party!
{Superbowl} We had a party again this year for the Superbowl and it was so yummy! I know that I should mention the game, but to be honest I paid very little attention to the TV. I was not invested in either of the teams so it was way more fun hanging out with our friends and eating. Anyone else do that? It was the second party at our new house (a week after the blogger party I just mentioned) and it was so fun to show our new house to our friends.
{Valentine’s Day} This year was so calm. It was everything we needed it to be. We wanted something quiet and at home, especially since it was during the week. I showed you how I made hearted grilled cheese and red velvet hot chocolate, but on the actual day of Valentine’s we just had brinner (breakfast for dinner) –> red heart-shaped strawberry pancakes. We watched a movie and were both passed out on the couch by 7:30pm. It was just one of those weeks, ya know? The weekend after Valentine’s day we went to our favorite fancy french restaurant and had a long dinner filled with delicious food and loving laughs. It was the perfect celebration. There was a ton of delicious food and friends. I also made wings & jalapeno poppers. Everyone pitched in and brought a dish. There was a ton of delicious food to gorge on.
{Craigslist} The Mr and I have purchased a few things through Craigslist before, but this was the first time that I actually posted something on Craigslist to sell. When we moved we purchased all new furniture so in order to make room for the new stuff we had to get rid of the old. You know, out with the old in with the new. I posted our couch and coffee table on Wednesday afternoon and by Friday they were sold. It went a lot faster than I expected. I posted prices a little higher than what I actually wanted because I would negotiate with prospective buyers (and even said I would in my ad), but no one negotiated with me. What?!?!? Who pays full price for over-priced used furniture in an ad that says to negotiate?! It was obviously good on my end, but come on peeps, don’t pay full price for everything. Aside from that I have to admit I was shocked that I was so sad to see our things sell. It was the first furniture we bought about 6 months after we got married. I dunno, I guess it was the sentimental value of it, but I know that it will bring another family many fond memories too. Just as a reminder (which I’m sure you know I just want to say for the sake of saying), be very careful inviting strangers over to your home to sell your things. Just be smart about it.
{Napping} We’ve been exhausted lately. We have had something to do every night for the past month and it is taking it’s toll. When we finally get home we sit down to eat something and usually fall asleep while we’re sitting. I’m not a big napper, but recently my body has been making me. Naps have become something that we have to do so that we don’t fall asleep driving (clearly an exaggeration, but you get what I mean). So when we get a second for a power nap, we take it.
Notice the reoccurring theme in all of these pictures? Rooney loves him a good ‘ole nap haha
Ok I think that is enough randomness lol What have you been up to? Big plans for the weekend? Tell me what you’ve been up to these days :-) Don't forget to go shopping so that you can *WIN* $50 Stella & Dot Jewelry!!!
Happy weekend friends!
