What I'm Lovin' Wednesday: I Bartered With A Gypsy

As least I think I did. 
No, maybe I hope I did.

When Lura @ Domesticability texted me that HGTV was filming one of their new shows, Junk Gypsies, in Houston I knew that we had to be a part of that!  HGTV hosted two yard sales a couple blocks from each other so we went to both. duh!

Lura and I had breakfast, fueled up with doughnuts, and headed out to the ‘burbs in her truck with DIY projects in mind.  It was so fun to scan the deals and watch the filming!  Maybe a part of our arms or maybe even some of our hair will make it on TV. Maybe?

At the second house I found a painting that had great potential so I got to barter with the one of the people from the show or maybe it was the owner of the house? Either way it was a super fun experience.  To read more about the show click here.

Filming the show!!!

Since it didn’t take us too long to get through those houses we decided to drive around the neighborhoods following all of the signs for yard sales and garage sales.  At one estate sale we drove by, and you’ll never guess who we saw!  Despite Houston being such a HUGE city, it is getting smaller and smaller the longer I live here.  Just as we pulled up our fellow Houston Blogger Jennifer @ Contemporary Harbor was leaving with her purchase…perfect time for a photo op!

Lura and I had a successful Saturday and it was definitely really fun!  I can’t wait to go thrifting again soon.  Stay tuned for all of the projects I’ve got to share with you from our day of thrifting.
