When times get crazy and the Mr and I start to feel like we only see each other for 15 minutes a day, we find a weekend away is the best cure to refocus on each other. It's so easy to forget to serve our spouses when we don't even get a chance to sit down during the day. This summer got a bit nutty and we were starting to feel swamped so we planned a weekend getaway. The purpose of our trip wasn't for anything special as far as adventures or site seeing, we just wanted to relax and enjoy some time together.
San Antonio seemed like the perfect destination considering we have been there several times, and it wasn't too far away. We took our time getting to San Antonio, stopping at famous BBQ restaurants & fruit stands on the side of the road. No schedules or watches, just us :-)
We went to our favorite shops and restaurants in historic downtown Gruene.
Since we didn’t have the pups, we stayed at a super lovely hotel. The Mr booked us a fabulous room!

Special shout-out to Miss Shelly!!! Thank you so much for keeping Tomlin and Rooney for us! They can’t wait to come visit again. “We ruff you!”
We drank delicious lemonade…

….and took time to ponder.
We walked around the Riverwalk….I mean you can’t go to San Antonio without at least talking a little stroll around, right?
and we took a nice slow, calm, and peaceful float down the Guadalupe River
ahhhhhhh relaxation at it’s finest, with my finest ;-)
What a great escape from reality :-)
What do you do when you start to feel the pressures of reality? Have you ever been to San Antonio or floated the Guadalupe River?
Have a great week y'all!
