Before the party I pulled out a few decorations. I had these labels and old medicine jars for years and never knew what to do with them….until last Friday. Aren’t they spooky looking? My sister suggested serving drinks out of them, and that’s just what we did :-) Thanks for the tip Kellyn!
Phil and I took our annual trip to the local church that sells pumpkins profiting local mission organizations. I did this as a child so it holds a special place in my heart. But we had to have a pumpkin for a Halloween party, right?
I have mentioned this before, but I am not a Halloween person. I don’t have anything against the holiday, I’m just not into it. I never think about a costume until too late, and just feel blah about it. The Mr loves Halloween though, and this year I was determined to be excited for Halloween if nothing else but for him. So I brainstormed, googled, and polled my classes until I came up with the perfect costume for me.
My criteria: cheap, fun, not Honey Booboo, or scandalous
Phil was Larry Bird (a former Celtics player from the late 80’s-early 90’s that was on the dream team), and I was Cruella Deville.
I have no idea why people used to tease their entire head. It took me, literally (Phil timed me) 2 hours to untease my hair Sunday morning, and that was after 2 deep conditioning treatments. eeeek! Good thing Halloween is only once a year, right?
We had a great time and it was really great once I got my costume together and was surrounded with good friends. I might actually be looking forward to Halloween for next year now lol
