Easter this year was almost, almost, an after-thought. I say "almost" because the celebration of Jesus' death & resurrection was not an after-thought, but the secular bunny/egg hunt part was almost over-looked. You know if you've been following along on our Instagram that we're elbow deep in an epic DIY project and meeting some deadlines, so chocolate bunnies just did not enter my brain at all. The weeks leading up to Easter we did A LOT of Easter activities, crafts, and books in our homeschooling, and it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of conversations about what Easter means (not chocolate bunnies), and it was great!
The past few years we've been at the ranch for Easter Sunday, but this year we were home. On Easter Sunday, we went to church, and then The Mr. and I volunteered in the church nursery. We went out to lunch, and then came home and the kiddos took a nap. The Mr. and I worked on some projects around the house, and the Easter bunny stopped by right before the kids woke up. I hid 12 cascarones eggs around the yard and told them that they could each find 6. This captured their attention while we could finish painting. It was a busy and productive day, but hopefully next year will be a lot more restful!
