Little Peep is Here!
Last Monday, June 2, 2014, Dutch LeBeau Hawley made his grand entrance into the world.
My dapper little man is only one week old today but we are already so smitten and wrapped around this little boy’s finger.
I’m taking a short break around here to soak up all of these baby snuggles we have prayed for, but don’t worry I have plenty of great news to share with you. You know I can't stay gone for very long ;-)
To hold you over, here is a picture of Dutch when he was about 6 hours old. For more pictures you can follow us here.
Thank you for your messages of encouragement and kind words! We are beyond grateful and continue to ask for your prayers as we continue our transition into parenthood and a family of 5 (the pups are transitioning pretty well so far too).

Little Peep Bumpdate {40 Weeks}
As excited as I am for Little Peep to get here, I have to admit that I cried while the Mr. was taking my bumpdate pictures. I still cannot believe that we are expecting. We have been praying specifically over this little boy for 10 months, which seems like a long time but we have been praying for a child for 4 years, and it still doesn't feel real. I feel so blessed and grateful to have made it to 40 weeks with this sweet gift from above but it still feels surreal.
How far along: 40 weeks
Fruit-size comparison: A jackfruit……..whatever that is!
Developmental milestones: Not much has changed since last week; probably because Little Peep doesn’t have the room to grow much more (Mama’s stomach has reached it’s limit). His internal organs, immune system, fat, hair, & nails continue to develop.
Maternity clothes: Oh yes!
Weight gain: This was shocking to me, but I lost 3 lbs last week! Now my total weight gain is 31 lbs! I didn't know this could happen, but I'm totally down with starting to lose my pregnancy weight while still pregnant.
Stretch Marks: Yes and I'm totally loving every single kiss from heaven!
Sleep: I love it & I'm soaking it all up while I can!
Best moment of the week: The visit with our doctor this week was awesome. We had another NST to make sure that Little Peep isn’t getting stressed as he loses realstate in my tummy. During this test we saw a lot of contractions, but again nothing predictable or super intense. I was 3 cm dilated and my membranes were stripped again this week in the hopes of progressing labor (since I am now over due and have been in early labor for almost 4 weeks now). The eviction date has now been scheduled, but we're still praying that Little Peep comes on his own. However, no matter what, we know that it will be less than a week before we can finally snuggle up with this precious gift from God.
Movement: I still feel him moving around but it is getting less and less. I make sure to pay attention to those fetal kick counts now that he doesn’t have much space.
Cravings: Sweets....especially chocolate.....and ice cream.....oh and pudding....chocolate pudding :-)
Gender: A little boy!!!
Belly button in or out: The top part of my belly button is now an outtie while the bottom portion is a flattie.......It's very comical to look at lol
Wedding ring: Mostly on unless I've been exercising outside in the Houston heat.
Anything making you queasy/sick: Nope
What I miss: Nothing
What I’m looking forward to: Holding my sweet baby boy!
What I’m looking forward to: Holding my sweet baby boy!
Labor signs: Still having contractions with increasing intensity that often prevent me from walking
Symptoms: Basketball belly, chubby cheeks, one swollen foot, heart burn, stretch marks with PUPPP that has now spread to my hips and thighs, potty breaks every 25 minutes....yep I'd say that I'm still pregnant ;-)
Nursery: Done, and I can’t wait to add the final piece, Little Peep, to complete the room!
Emotions: Excitement...like a kid waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve kind of excitement!
