What I’m Lovin’ Wednesday: The Impeccable Pig

I’ve got to tell you about the fabulous new bag I recently purchased. At the Houston Symposium last month I was introduced to The Impeccable Pig.  This local boutique is phenomenal.  They have exquisite style for reasonable prices.  I absolutely love shopping in their store and have really enjoyed everything I have purchased.  Impeccable PigIt’s been a while since I have purchased a new handbag and I thought it was time to treat myself.  Every gal needs a treat every now and then, right?  As soon as I walked in I spotted this little baby and just had to have it.  This green gem was calling my name!Collage
I carry this bag every day.  The leather is so soft and I love the color.  I don’t think I’ve ever had a green handbag but I really like how bold this one is.  My favorite aspect of the bag though is the inside: the opening is wide enough where I can see everything I carry and the contents stand out next to the animal print.  I NEVER lose anything in this bag.  DSC_0229-2DSC_0243-2
Check out The Impeccable Pig’s website to see if they have a boutique near you (Tell your hubby I’m sorry for all the stuff you’re about to buy. lol)

Happy Halloween friends!
I was not paid for this review; everything written is of my own opinion.

Sometimes We Need A Break…

...from reality.  You know what I'm sayin' folks?!

When times get crazy and the Mr and I start to feel like we only see each other for 15 minutes a day, we find a weekend away is the best cure to refocus on each other.  It's so easy to forget to serve our spouses when we don't even get a chance to sit down during the day.  This summer got a bit nutty and we were starting to feel swamped so we planned a weekend getaway.  The purpose of our trip wasn't for anything special as far as adventures or site seeing, we just wanted to relax and enjoy some time together.

San Antonio seemed like the perfect destination considering we have been there several times, and it wasn't too far away. We took our time getting to San Antonio, stopping at famous BBQ restaurants & fruit stands on the side of the road.  No schedules or watches, just us :-)Collage-1
We went to our favorite shops and restaurants in historic downtown Gruene.DSC_0227-2Collage-2Collage-3DSC_0211-2
Since we didn’t have the pups, we stayed at a super lovely hotel.  The Mr booked us a fabulous room!
Special shout-out to Miss Shelly!!! Thank you so much for keeping Tomlin and Rooney for us!  They can’t wait to come visit again. “We ruff you!”Collage-4Collage-5Collage-6
We drank delicious lemonade…DSC_0236-2

….and took time to ponder.DSC_0280-2
We walked around the Riverwalk….I mean you can’t go to San Antonio without at least talking a little stroll around, right?DSC_0371-2
and we took a nice slow, calm, and peaceful float down the Guadalupe River
ahhhhhhh relaxation at it’s finest, with my finest ;-)DSC06378-2DSC06379-2
What a great escape from reality :-)DSC_0379-2
What do you do when you start to feel the pressures of reality? Have you ever been to San Antonio or floated the Guadalupe River?

Have a great week y'all!

What I’m Lovin’ Wednesday: Apples to Apples

When I was thinking about what I wanted to write about this week for "what I’m lovin", my taste buds screamed APPLES!!!  It must be something about this time of year (ha-ha) that makes me love apples.  In fact about this time last year, I wrote about apples (see here).  I guess some things just don’t change, and thank goodness!  Last year I shared apples in general with you, but this year I really want to focus on apple recipes because I personally just can’t get enough.  Do ya feel me on this one or what?!

I’ve never been to an apple orchard to pick my own apples; this is something I need to get around to some day.  While I’ve never picked my own apples, I’ve certainly cooked my fair share, and here are some of my favorite apple recipes.Apple Recipes

Pup Package

The pups love the mailman.  Seriously, they LOVE him!
Last week the pups got a package in the mail.

Their Aunt Kellyn sent them a fabulous package, and I laughed hysterically.DSC_0279-2

The Mr, Kellyn, & I all went to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA, at the Center of the Universe!  Kellyn works there in Admissions and she sent the pups these jerseys.  Look how good they look!  They are definitely ready to cheer on the home team!! Go Jackets!!!
Thank you Aunt Kellyn!!!

A Fashionable Fall

I would be lying if I didn’t admit that my favorite aspect of fall was the fashion.  Yes of course I love how the weather chills off, pumpkin spice lattes, football and the festivities.  However, the fashion, oh the fashion, how it has me wrapped around it’s finger!  Here are some of the styles I’m head over heels (or boots) for this season.
